Moving House
10:57 pm on September 7th, 2007 by Eric RachlinThe Brown campus is in the midst of some major construction. A significant utilities upgrade is underway in conjunction with Brown’s plan to connect its Main Green to the Pembroke campus. This second project, known as “The Walk”, involves many stages of demolition and construction.
Recently the Peter Green House at 142 Angell Street escaped destruction by being moved about 450 feet over the course of a week. In case you missed some of the action, Brown posted a time-lapsed video.
The Peter Green House is now safe at the corner of Angell and Brown, but the UEL Garden is not as fortunate. I’m told that on September 9th the garden is slated for demolish. Fortunately it is also slated for reconstruction, no doubt being redesigned by some fancy ivy league horticulturist.
