Have to disagree with you on this:

I'd say that the IWW protests were well-targeted.  You're more likely to spook contractors out of engaging in awful practices than you're likely to influence the primes.  The contractors have easily accessible alternative options for their contracts for purchases and services.  And they're the ones whose businesses are more readily disrupted -- A restaurant has to worry about PR at a much higher rate than does a sweatshop owner.  But if you get a few restaurants to flip contracts, that'll apply hard pressure on the offending business to reform its practices.  There have been many IWW protests targeting the supplier in question, up and down the coast.  In N Providence, anyway, their protest seems to have convinced Jackies Galaxy to change contractors.

As far as Code Pink -- I think there's a lot of reason to protest the hearings in question, if for no other reason than to draw attention to what a farce they are--  Were this a real democracy, the war would've ended, or started to end, a year or more ago.</description>
