The right wing is up in arms at the notion that a progressive Dem — and an openly gay man — is the guy to beat in Warwick:
Rhode Island faces a critical special election to fill an open assembly seat on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, November 27th. Pro-family Republican Jonathan Wheeler will face off against same-sex marriage activist, Democrat Frank Ferri. The 22nd District includes Conimicut, Warwick Neck, and Oakland Beach. Less than 2000 people are expected to vote.
And the Warwick Repubs recently held an anti-Frank rally.
From Frank’s campaign:
We can not let the religious right or the Governor take away this race– both of Frank’s opponents are firmly against working people, against the LGBT community, and against health care policy and education policy that Rhode Islanders desperately need.
Please sign up today for at least one door knocking or phone calling shift this weekend, and as much of election day as you possibly can.
We need help today (Friday), Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 11 am - 9 pm. Please email us lto et us know when you will be by to help and make sure everyone you know if District 22 (most of 02889 in Warwick) get to the polls on Tuesday!
If you can help, please email the campaign at VoteFrankFerri@gmail.com

G-Fox has been down with campaign since before the primary. Murphy’s down too, now.
