This makes me feel old, but in a good way. As if I’m aging like a fine wine or cheese. Some of the first “weird” music I ever bought was released on Seattle’s Sup Pop, a label that should need no introduction or explanation to anyone even peripherally interested in underground rock since 1990 or so. Green River was probably the first thing I had, then of course Bleach and Mudhoney’s Superfuzz Bigmuff. But the most incredible fact in this piece: Nirvana’s debut, Bleach, famously recorded for $600 in 1988 or so, has sold over a million copies. (Seattle Times)
