Many of you probably heard about Obama’s (perhaps prescient) grammy win over Bill Clinton on Sunday, but even more improbable was the winner in the always tense showdown for the Best Historical Album award…The Live Wire. No it’s not a wiretap of a Baltimore payphone, The Live Wire is the only existing live recording of a Woody Guthrie concert. Recorded on a tangle of wires that predated magnetic tape, the show has been lovingly remastered and preserved by a bunch of super mathematical geniuses. Check it out!
