A few years back my band had the pleasure of playing with Boston’s Lyres. They have a great, garage-soul Nugget’s-esque sound not unlike early Van Morrison or Them, the guy has a great voice like Van (the man) and for a bunch of old dudes they rock harder than most kids half their age. Also, I always thought it was pronounced leers but it’s not. It’s pronounced liars. Am I wrong about this? I swear I heard the singer say it that way. Check the song on the Jerky’s page for proof of their awesomeness. Also playing are Viennagram (pictured) who are truly insane and have to be seen to believed, and the Midnight Creeps. It’s pronounced “liars”. I saw them in Boston late last year. They still put on a good show!
