I reserve the right to write about something twice when it turns out to be totally awesome. I just came back from seeing this thing and it is crazy! It’s a Hummer made out of discarded lottery tickets collected by Brooklyn artists (and RISD grads) Lauren Was and Adam Eckstrom. But the show lasts only a few more days, so get down there. Earlier today Lauren was busy repairing a spare tire, but was happy to answer all my questions, and frankly she is quite lovely. Fun fact: the cost of the tickets used = the cost of the average Hummer. Yesterday’s ProJo explains how this came about.
Ghost of a Dream can be seen at 70 Eddy Street, behind City Hall, across from Big Nazo, tonight until 9:00 p.m. (Tonight is Gallery Night downtown so you could do that.)
Final days: Friday 12 to 6 p.m. and the show closes on Saturday 12 to 5 p.m.
The show is sponsored by the Arts & Business Council of Rhode Island and Cornish Associates. The council supports exhibitions in various sites in downtown Providence.
