Two things

The House committee on the Environment and Natural Resources met last night, and heard two of my very own bills, which I’ll promote here (with ample Jewish shame):
H7377 would require the state to allow state employees, who are already guaranteed parking spaces, to be able to take a RIPTA pass in lieu of a parking space. (With the incremental cost of a RIPTA pass being _lower_ than that of a parking space.) It’s a no-nonsense measure that’d increase RIPTA ridership, decrease state expenditures, and mean cleaner air in Rhode Island.
H7949 would require that URI, CCRI, and RIC contract with a local firm to dispose of waste kitchen grease, and convert it into fuel. It’s an enviro issue, and a local econ development issue — while there are several local firms that convert grease into fuel, our understanding is that RI’s public institutions currently contract with multinationals that ship grease to Korea and China, to have it turned into soap, lipstick, and even dog food.
