10:18 am on March 27th, 2008 by Eric SmithPeople, please hold your hat over your cholesterol clogged hearts and have a moment for Herb Patterson, inventor of the Egg McMuffin, who passed away on Tuesday at the amazing age of 89. He also wrote McDonald’s first national advertising slogan. His legacy lives on in the form of the McGriddle, which consists of eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, and cheese BETWEEN TWO MAPLE SYRUP-INFUSED ENGLISH MUFFINS. Whoever invented that should win the Nobel Prize for breakfast awesomness.
