This, from Kansas. How much out-of-state donating does he do? It does something to undercut the idea that he’s in it purely for the glory:
Wealthy Rhode Island man helping out with hunger in Kansas
The Wesley House in Pittsburg is participating in the Feinstein Challenge. Alan Feinstein donates $1 million each year to organizations fighting hunger.
During the months of March and April any donations will be matched by the Rhode Island resident.
Monetary donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar and food items are worth $1 per package no matter what the item actually costs.
“The money we get we can use to buy food, and the food obviously we can distribute to our families through our food pantry so we come out ahead either way,” says the Westley House Pastor and Executive Director, Ellie Foster.
