From Portland (the one in Oregon), Musee Mecanique craft delicate, intricate music that fuses waltzing classical melodies (on “Like Home”), and music-box plinking over orchestral sweeps (on “The Propellors”), over a gently throbbing electronic landscape. The music is dark, weird and mysterious, sounding like a forgotten relic from the future. On “Two Friends Like Us”, the group takes a more traditionally folk approach; deft finger picking, soft organ and a jazzy bass with the drums puttering softly underneath. Also on the bill is Hannes Buder, a classically trained guitarist and composer whose finger-bendy style makes him sound like a teutonic John Fahey. Musee Mecanique, Hannes Buder, Alec K. Redfearn AS220, 9pm, $6, tonight.
