You folks have NO clue as to what insulting and truculent(love it) staff unless you've ever gone to Katz's deli in NYC,just off the Bowery.Middle-aged Jewish waiters who literally fling the food at the customers and make Don Rickles look like Mother Teresa.

Damn... I remember when I first moved to Providence, I lived on Thayer Street (no, really - my apartment was down the alley behind the Army/Navy store), and I ate at Geoff's more than I probably should have. It got to the point where the guys behind the counter would give me free loaves of bread if I was there when they were closing.

I haven't been there in years, though (probably to make up for all the Jen & Berry's I ate)... I had no idea that they'd closed down either... and here I was dreaming of introducing my kid to their special brand of horrible customer service and really good pickles.

Zog is still open. I'm pretty sure Geoff's on Benefit is as well, but it's been a couple of months since I've been there. That sandwich always reminds me of the sun carving from the original version of The Wicker Man.
