Anyone remember that scene in Hedwig and the Angry Inch in which Yitzhak says, “Fuck you, I’m going to Guam!” and threatens to leave the Angry Inch for a Pacific Island tour of Rent? Yeah, I haven’t heard anything about Guam since then either.
BUT, our Guamian friends pulled through today, awarding Obama a 7-vote victory over H-Bomb in their Democratic primary. Although Guam can send eight pledged delegates to the Democratic Convention in Denver, the U.S. citizens of Guam aren’t actually allowed to vote in November’s general election.
At any rate, thanks Guam!!

JOE BERNSTEIN Says:
Nor can US citizens who live in the Virgin Islands,American Samoa,Puerto Rico, Washington,DC.,or Swain’s Island(don’t ask me where it is-they taught us this at the Border Patrol Academy-it may be near Samoa)-but none of these people are actually disenfranchised totally because if they move to a US State, they can vote. This could be rectified by combining the votes of all these places and assigning a number of electors based on total population to simulate the number of reps and add 2 more to allow for the 2 senators each state gets. It’s less complicate than programming a vcr.
