I am an NRA member and I guess you would call me a no-compromiser on gun control,but this was an incredibly stupid remark.Joking about threatening political candidates with weapons,particularly coming out of the mouth of a politician of some stature,as opposed to a lunatic on a streetcorner or a blog(the new streetcorner) is NOT funny considering the history of assassination attempts since the Sixties-you don’t need many of those to recognize the gravity of the situation.I want Obama to lose,but I hope he has a safe trail on the campaign.
