McCain Top Adviser Leaving Campaign, Citing Obama as His Reason
12:23 pm on May 21st, 2008 by Dan BassMcCain’s top media consultant, Mark McKinnon, resigned from the GOP leader’s campaign last night, because he doesn’t want to campaign against Obama.
This is just more proof of the Obamicans that aren’t getting the attention that they deserve in the media for the shift they represent of voters who Obama would bring to the Democratic ticket this November who would most likely not vote Big D otherwise. These are people who identify as Republicans (or independents), but who are fleeing the sinking ship that is the GOP for Obama’s unifying message. Very reminiscent of the Reagan Democrats that propelled him to huge victories in ‘80 and ‘84.
This is all promising news for Obama’s chances in the general, given the newest Reuters/Zogby poll just released which has the O-Bomb whooping McCain nationally and on the issues most important to Americans.
