A summary of goings-on both here and not-so-here.
- The R. Kelly trial opened Tuesday. The jury was shown the 27 minute tape, the defence’s main argument is that it is not clear that the man on the tape is R. Kelly, also, the woman, who is not being called as a witness by the prosecution, denies being the underage girl on the tape. Also, in a bold move for the defence, R. Kelly denies being R. Kelly.
- Scarlett Johansson’s eagerly anticipated debut album is kind of meh. Pitchfork gave the anemic collection of Tom Waits covers a 5.5, and it pretty much sounds like someone thinking they sound like Mazzy Star’s Hope Sandoval. Fail!
- Obama easily wins Oregon because they’re sexist, and Clinton easily wins Kentucky because they’re rascist. Can’t we all just agree on hating old people?
- Some white kid won some show that no one cares about anymore.
- BREAKING: Naked asses sell more booze. Thanks, media!
- Parrots are smarter than us, donkeys belong in jail.

the scarlett johansson songs are growing on me, now that i’m over thinking about how great they could have been if someone that wasn’t in tv on the radio had produced the album.
