This Weekend: Tools, Mummers, Kids Dancing In The Cemetery.

WaterFireGaspee05There’s oodles of stuff happening this weekend:

Tonight:  Opening at Firehouse 13, for the Fools With Tools show.  I’m not too sure of the details, but I like the title.

Tomorrow:  Cryptic Providence opens.   Sixteen artists will be presenting work at the North Burial Ground over the next couple of weeks.  It includes everything from an archaeological dig to a children’s dance performance, and I’m sure the whole thing will be crazy and weird and wonderful.

Also Tomorrow:  A super-fancy audio-video performance thing at the Pell Chafee Center on Empire Street.  It’s called Do It Live, it benefits the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council, and features Aerostatic, Benton-C Bainbridge, Brian Kane, David Lublin, Duncan Laurie, Jeswa, Nalepa, Ooah, Peter Kirn, Richard Devine, RNDM and Robotkid, Synesthete and Unkle Thirsty.

Saturday & Sunday:  Gaspee Days!   Saturday’s the parade through Pawtuxet Village with the mummers and more drum corps than you can shake your fife at, but Sunday’s the Military Uniform Fashion Show and re-enactment of the burning of the Gaspee.

Also, for some reason I have the words “Zombie Beach Party” written on my calendar for Sunday, but I’m not sure what that refers to.  Sounds fun, though, so if anybody can fill me in I’d appreciate it.
