Jessica-one thing has nothing to do with the other.You want to run interference for illegals whether they commit crimes or not.That much is evident in what you post.The Governor’s executive order is reactive,not proactive,and targets criminal aliens.
For the last time-an immigrant is a lawfully admitted permanent resident and welcome here unless they get convicted of a serious crime.An illegal is just that-an alien unlawully in the US.I don’t expect you to agree.i’m just letting you know.Try reading the immigration laws if you get a chance.

Why the hell should american citizens be worried about healthcare for their ’spanish speaking immigrant neighbors?’

Illegal immigrants are willing to work for lower wages and reduced
benefits. this is to blame fa major factor responsible for the stagnate minimum wage.

the more poor illegal immigrants we let into the state, the larger the gap between the rich and the poor will be. this sanctuary city nonsense is just that.

Just to clarify, I never said that Carcieri condones or overlooks violence against women.

What bothers me about the Governor’s constant reference to the Marco Riz case is that he is exploiting the fears of Rhode Islanders to further his own political agenda. Rape is already highly politicized, and he is using this one example to paint a negative picture of the immigrant community.

We are experiencing tough economic times in this country, and I very troubled by the fact that so many hard-working middle class white Americans have chosen to focus their anger on their Spanish-speaking immigrant (both legal and illegal) neighbors, rather than focusing on issues of health care, minimum wage, and the terrifying and growing gap between the wealthy and the poor.

I wish that those with anti-immigrant sentiments could see that Governor Carcieri is just trying to cover up the horrendous effects his policies have had on the average working people of Rhode Island.

I completely agree with you Joe Bernstein. Going off of the ridiculous accusations, I assume following along the same lines as immigration, Jessica Ramsey intend on opening her house as a homeless shelter. I suggest Ms. Ramsey looks at staying classy herself.

The fact that Americans commit rapes somehow negates the situation involving Marco Riz is ridiculous.We are stuck with our own criminals-do we really need more?Cicilline and Esserman are at fault here because of their de facto sanctuary city stance.Cicilline has been obnoxious towards the Governor and I was glad to see the Gov take a whack at him,even if it entailed watching the O’Reilly blowhard show.Do you seriously allege that Carcieri condones or overlooks violence against women?Talk is cheap-present proof -where,when and how or stop making false accusations.
