Pub Quiz Tonight

10:13AM ON 07/13/2008
BY Beth Comery

the wild colonialIt’s time again for the famous Pub Quiz at the Wild Colonial. Teams can be from one to four people, no pre-registration required, just show up. Categories usually include current events, local trivia, maybe history or sports, and often some idiosyncratic or seasonal questions. And the 80’s rear their ugly head with some frequency. It always ends with a music category (12 or more audio clips) which will often hew to a theme that has been developed by the hilarious quiz masters. There are prizes for win, place and show. I don’t know what the prizes will be tonight, but the people over at Narragansett Beer have been coming up with some cool stuff lately. The artwork on their merch is a cut above the rest and they actually make T-shirts for the moderately-sized human (a.k.a. Europeans) as well as standard American (XXXXXXXL). So here is the free publicity that such promotional items are supposed to produce — happy to do it.

starts 8PM/Wild Colonial Tavern/250 South Water St./621-5644/wheelchair accessible

  1. Sounds like fun, because I’ve always been good at Jeopardy, but the music stuff scares me-I have trouble identifying any artist or group since the sixties

  2. [...] How could I possibly take cheap shots at such towering contributions to the national canon as this, and this, and this? Oh, and don’t forget this. If only there were a Pulitzer for blogging. [...]

  3. A few of us stopped by Wild Colonial on Saturday night after a show and were playing darts (badly) when something across the room caught our attention. An attractive blonde in leopard skin clothes appeared to be giving her friends a pole demonstration. It just now occurs to me…She was probably a Jersey Girl.

If that was Pub Quiz, I’d be afraid to see a kickball game.
