I’ve been to a lot of dumps, er, landfills, er, resource recovery stations, er, dumps. Anywho, that one up on the hill in Johnston is by far the cleanest, best organized I’ve encountered.
And, for fun, my bike route up and around that hill. I call it the Dumpmaster route.

I know a 5th grade teacher in Central Falls who takes her students each year. It might have kind of scared me to think about as a kid, especially after that factoid about miles of used diapers stretching to the moon and back- but yes, a great place to halp kids to realize what happens when you throw stuff away.

I went in fifth grade and it was awesome. Especially the part where the bus rode partway up the hill.
