So much buzz about Jack Reed

Been all over the news as a potential veep candidate — even listed as the third most likely choice
on Hardball last night.
Though it’s still real hard for me to see how anybody from the bluest of blue states makes the ticket, and Sen Reed’s denying that he wants it. And I trust him, over Chris Matthews’ bloviations.

I think he’d be perfect: solidly liberal, military/foreign policy experience to back up Obama. He was against the war from the start, worried about terrorism before 9/11 and would absolutely wreck whatever hack the republicans choose in the VP debates. I don’t think that swing state calculus usually does much, better to have a strong choice who also reassures voters about BHO. Is there any chance the assembly would be able to change the senator replacement rule so that we’d have a special election instead of appointment by the governor?
