  2. I know nothing about the Watchmen, but I’m a sci-fi sucker and this looks really cool.

  3. Still not sure how I feel about this.

  4. Actually, I just saw that the twin towers are there, hopefully meaning they didn’t try to update it. I still couldn’t tell if the comedian was in Vietnam or Iraq, though.

  5. So far, everyone claims that it’s going to be ridiculously faithful… and I’m willing to forget 90% (o.k. 97%) of the comic-based movies out there that say otherwise… until I see it, of course.

They’ve kept it mid-80’s alternate history, far as I know. I guess they were originally going to have it take place “now”, but scrapped that idea. Check the official website, it’s pretty cool.

  7. 1. MAKE ALAN MOORE SO PROUD
    2. this will presumably kill it hard as long as edward norton keeps his distance

  8. I really hate Zack Snyder, but everything I’ve seen from this looks totally beautiful, and almost too faithful. And I’m not usually a big fan of CG, but when the trailer shows the crystal palace on Mars I actually mist up a little bit.

  9. They’ve definitely kept it mid-80s with Nixon still in office. Everything is pretty much the same. I didn’t read the script but back when people were upset that Greengrass wasn’t directing I’d heard that the end catastrophe in NY was being changed a little - I don’t know for sure what’s up with that though.
