Your invitation is very kind, but as I was voted 'most likely to twist her ankle' in high school I don't think I would be much help. But maybe I could be something else, like snack mom! What should I bring? Menthols? Non-filters?
No no no ... seriously... I will come and cheer and I promise... I will not be snarky any more. No more snark.

Word to my motha, tall thin man.

Yep, as Team Captain I have to clarify:

The Providence Burnsiders are loosely affiliated with the Daily Dose. Meaning some contributors are on the team, but we're not sponsored by the blog. Burnsiders represent a mix of teams past - the Steamrollers, the Productivists, etc. - along with eager new players. We might have lost a lot of games, but we played with a lot of heart and have won the respect of all our opponents. We were granted the esteemed (if informal) title of "The Funnest Kickball Team Ever" by announcers last week.

I understand that snarkiness is a part of the PDD's identity, but let's not make judgments based on a 2-dimensional scoreboard.

You're welcome to join us on the field to experience the glory of the Providence Burnsiders this coming Saturday, Beth. You won't be disappointed.

Right you are Tibet... Sergeant Tibet. Please accept my apology for being such a cranky sourball. I guess when I got to the part about the 'fungi' I lost heart. But I should be proud of you all for showing the league, and the world, what matters in life — trying hard, good sportsmanship, and having a good time. If you aren't having fun, you aren't doing it right! Go Burnsiders!

Whoa whoa whoa.

The Providence Burnsiders are one of the most respected and celebrated teams in the entire PKL. Our recent performance against the Holy Rollers (last year's champs who beat their opponent 24-0 the week before last) was described as such:

"...this week the Providence Burnsiders earned their stripes for showing the Hyperdome what the meaning of “having fun” is all about. Their glistening epaulettes, like so many fringed fungi, shone as bright as the spirit and sportsmanship of this new team in the final game of the day. By the infectious excitement of the sideburned Unioneers, you’d think that they’d already won the war even before JP called, “Play Ball!” ... the Burnsiders gained another well-earned mile in the battle for the hearts and minds of the PKL"

Not only do play kickball the way it's meant to be played but we are also competitive in every game which is something a number of other teams can't say, and I think we are much better than our record shows.

That being said, let's get out there and kick ass in our last two games. Huzzah!
