Eric, of what’s still kind of Overheard in Providence, has spurred me to get back into Arthur Ganson’s work. He’s a “kinetic sculptor” and former artist-in-residence at MIT. He competes with whacky Joe Davis for primacy as MIT’s nuttiest uncle-y sort of figure. (Ganson is cooler, Davis is crazier.)
His TED lecture is posted here. (I’d embed it if I could figure out how too.) Two of his cooler pieces, which he discusses in said lecture:
