Some Guns n’ Roses (or GNfnR for you potty-mouths) fans like adorable Justin at Patrick’s Pub are excited about the release of their new album, “Chinese Democracy,” for the music. Others are excited that Dr. Pepper promised a free can of soda to every American if the album was released this year. Both dreams are coming true: “Chinese Democracy” is scheduled to release on 11/23 through Geffen Records and Best Buy stores, and folks visting www.drpepper.com that day can download a coupon for a free bottle of Dr. Pepper. Personally, I’m not too crazy about the pairing of a washed-up band (all downhill since their awesome Foxboro show w/Metallica in ‘92) and a can of corn syrup, but to each her own.

Yeah, I felt a bit bad that I panned them before the release of the album–but it’s awful. Of the six MySpace songs, I could listen to maybe “IRS” again. “Sorry” fell short of monster ballad glory, and the others, esp. “Shackler’s Revenge,” DID blow corn syrup.

It is nice to see GNR back. It was too long time since “Use Your Illusion”. This album is not that good, but still shows that Axel is back on the track.
