Did you know today is Rhode Island Recycles Day, a local celebration of America Recycles Day? Neither did I. Low PR aside, it’s a cool thing: pretty much any plastic item in your home you’d like to recycle, but the bastards don’t accept it, can be brought to the Johnston landfill today until 5:00.
Industrial-strength shredders will be on site for anything you don’t trust lying around the paper bins, and you can purchase up to two compost bins, too (we still love ours; one’s for food, one’s where all dead leaves go, and our sly groundhog hasn’t yet managed to breach either).
