Wait till MIT gets to town. AS220 has announced a new collaboration with MIT’s Center for Bits and Atoms (isn’t that adorable?) which will establish a new FabLab in town. According to today’s ProJo:
By January, [AS220] hopes to have the technology open to the public in its Empire Street location, but the goal is to move the lab in about two years into its own two-floor space in the Mercantile Block, a building on Washington Street that the organization is developing into a mixed-use space of artist residences, arts studios and retail.
Just read the article — Philip Marcelo has a much better grip on this topic than I do. But it sounds quite promising and I was really happy to find out that the Dean of Technology at J-WU goes by the Hogwartsian name of Francis X. Tweedie.
