Networks 2008 - Art Opening!

NetWorks 2008 is a multi-disciplinary exhibition of selected contemporary RI visual artists curated by Dr. Joseph Chazan & Umberto Crenca, Artistic Director of AS220. Networks 2008 includes fifteen videos that celebrate Rhode Island’s incredible community of artists. These videos will begin airing on Rhode Island PBS affiliates beginning Thursday, November 6th.

The NetWorks exhibition is currently on view at The Newport Art Museum, Newport, RI, and an opening reception for the artists will be held on Friday, November 21 from 5-7pm. This exhibit highlights the work & achievement of a number of diverse and influential Rhode Island artists. A full color exhibition catalog with DVD produced by Design Providence will be available at the reception. The Newport Art Museum Networks exhibit continues through January 25, 2009.

Other exhibitions and events will continue during the winter season. An exhibition at 5Traverse will run December 5th-24th with an opening reception December 5th from 6pm-8pm. Simultaneously, December 5th-28th a NetWorks exhibition will be on view at the AS220 Project Space with an opening reception on December 7th form 4-7pm and a preview friday December 5th from 5:30-8pm. During the preview there will be a free shuttle service between the AS220 Project Space & NetWorks opening reception at 5Traverse Gallery. Photographic Portraits of the artists by Lucas Foglia and Scott Lapham at the Providence City Hall Gallery at 25 Dorrance Street will follow, running from January 4th to 31st.
