Get On

6:47PM ON 09/01/2009
BY Wesli Dymoke

Waited long enough for equal rights? Equality Across America, a nationwide network of local organizers and affiliated organizations, has also had enough. Join the National Equality March on Sunday, October 11th in Washington, D.C., to promote LGBT rights as “part of a larger movement for peace and social justice.”

Local affiliate Providence Equality Action Committee (PEAC —  Facebook; Email) has hired buses to carry you there and back, leaving late Saturday night the 10th and coming back early Monday morning the 12th. There will be plenty of time to socialize, network, and do what you want. Tickets are $65 each, deadline 20 September. Get yours now!

I think it could be good for his personal growth and character development, and for that also good for LGBT rights specifically and greater equality of all persons more generally, which is the larger aim of Equality Across America.

That said, it might also be confusing and disturbing experience for him, as it would bring him into close proximity with an environment all but entirely alien to him: From all the information we’ve been able to gather so far, the governor has never seen the inside of a bus, and may not even know what it is or what it’s for.
