Finally, A Smoky Map Of The Smoky Mountains

7:23PM ON 09/12/2009
BY Beth Comery

The Map Center A fire late Thursday night on North Main Street has caused damage to several apartments, a furniture store and most importantly — The Map Center! According to the Providence Journal, Map Center owner Andrew Nosal is determined to reopen as soon as possible. (I once told Mr. Nosal that if he held a special event I would write it up but this is ridiculous.) While his part of the building escaped structural damage the smell of smoke pervades the premises and the inventory. Said Nosal,

“When I first walked in, I thought everything was going to be fine, but stuff smells bad. Who wants to buy a smelly map?”

Are you kidding? People love that stuff! We’ll let you know when the store is up and running again. In the meantime, the website is open for business.  Good luck Andrew.
