Nah, it’s Anna the friendly alien (or is she?) from tonight’s premiere episode of V, and she is a refreshing break from the usual scaly monsters (or is she?). The opener was a little uneven while frequently reminding me of the superior show, The 4400. In fact, ABC lifted 4400 star, Joel Gretsch, to play the hero — and you can tell he’s gonna be the hero because his name is Jack — and it’s good to see him again. I am less happy at the return of Alan Tudyk, the intergalactic doofus Wash, from Firefly. Tonight’s episode was okaaay, but it often seemed hastily plotted, with the story lurching forward early on as if it was missing a reel. It seemed like the director wanted to hurry up and get to the part he liked. But I’ll give it another shot. And I could not help but notice that a pivotal plot point involved the address 4400 Pier Avenue.
