Maps On Sale

Map Center Good news for map lovers. As reported here last September, the building that houses the Map Center was the scene of a pretty impressive fire, but Andrew Nosal is up and running again and he has some great deals. Now thru November 28th — 50% off on his smoke-exposed merch, and everything hanging on the walls. I saw this stuff, it’s fine. (All website sales are new merchandise.) Maps are cool.

  1. Back when I worked at Brown Bookstore, someone called who was (I think) pretending to be a customer, and asked if we sold maps of Rhode Island. I checked around, and told her all we had were US maps and maps of Rhode Island’s trees. Then she told me that I should go to the Map Center and then really quickly told me their address and hours and then hung up. I’ve still never actually been there.

  2. It’s been way too long since my last visit. The first visit was to the old store upstairs on Weybosset St. Yes, maps, of any kind, are cool.

  3. I just picked up the washable, foldable, abusable Tyvec political world map — great for kids! I also picked up a USGS topo as a special gift for a special person who loves to hike.

There’s also several 6″ Moon globes going really cheap. Several other globes, too, all half off. And plenty of other maps of all kinds.
