Protest Corruption In Washington Today

City Hall Join the MoveOn and Ocean State Action team for a rally to protest corruption in Washington.

Help make Washington work for the 98% of us who can’t afford a lobbyist. We need a massive groundswell to rid our democracy of corporate corruption.

Featured speakers include Professor Corey Brettschneider, associate professor of political science at Brown University. Read his column in the Providence Journal where he excoriates the Supreme Court for its infamous Citizens United decision and supports RI state Rep. David Segal’s call for a Federal Constitutional Convention.

A constitutional convention of citizens would be historic. But when the Supreme Court has broken with the best elements of our constitutional tradition of self-governance and when Congress lacks the will to reform, the only choice is to call a convention to restore democracy.

Also scheduled to speak; Brian Hull of Rhode Island Progressive Democrats, Kate Brock of OSA, and Chris Currie of the MoveOn RI Council.

5pm to 6pm, Tuesday, City Hall steps
