Downtown Beer Garden Music Continues
Deb Dormody, program manager of Greater Kennedy Plaza, sends a reminder of the remaining Beer Garden events. The Beer Garden runs Thursdays from 4:30pm to 7pm with performances from 5pm to 6:30pm. Relax with this after-work music series. Check out bands and DJs from all over New England before you head to dinner and outdoor movies. Free!
TONIGHT: September 9th: Oom Pa Pas — super fun Bavarian band for that ultimate German biergarten feel!
September 16th: Afrosonic Collective — DJ’s Nick DeParis and BlackDove’s electric relaxation = beer and beats!
September 23rd: Debo Band featuring Fendika — An exhilarating eleven-piece Ethio-groove collective created as a means of exploring the unique sounds that once filled dance clubs of 1970s Ethiopia. Made popular through the renowned Ethiopiques series, the musical inspiration behind Debo Band is an unlikely confluence of Ethiopian pentatonic scales and vocal styles, American soul and funk, and the instrumentation of Eastern European brass bands – accordion, violins, horns, and drums. This is the debut U.S. tour of Debo Band and their Ethiopia-based guests, Fendika.
September 30th: Death Vessel — Sub Pop recording artist, rooted in a traditional feel of folk and early Americana. This music sounds as progressive, experimental and modern as it is antique and old-world.
