Yay, let’s talk about Joan’s boobs. . . I mean, let’s explore “how Mad Men’s multiple media positions intersect with the program’s treatment of various social positions of race, gender and sexuality. . . and issues of media, identity and consumer culture.”
The annual Gender and Sexuality Studies lecture — Media Madness: Multiple Identity (Dis)orders in Mad Men — will be given by Brown University associate professor of modern culture and media Lynne Joyrich, and is open to the public. Reception to follow — toast the progress we’ve made with a bottle of water and a piece of Nicorette gum.
Free, lecture at 5pm, Tuesday, Pembroke Hall, Room 305, Brown University, 172 Meeting Street
