Marriage Equality Rally And Hearing — Wednesday

meri Join Ocean State Action and MERI to show your support for same sex marriage, Wednesday, February 9, at the State House. Rally starts outside at 4pm and then moves into the committee hearing.

Attendees should enter on the north side of the building. Please be prepared to go through security by removing any metal from your pockets, taking off belts with metal closures, etc. Please enter single-file to get everyone into the building as quickly as possible.
Signs and banners are welcome, but must be hand-held only (signs on sticks will not be permitted into the building).

Parking is available at Providence Place Mall, or behind the Dept. of Health Building on Smith Street (enter through the “Employee Parking” entrance and park at the far end of the lot). There is limited metered on-street parking available. Bring your family, bring your friends, spread the word that marriage matters and Rhode Islanders want MARRIAGE EQUALITY NOW!

Join us in room 313 of the state house at 5 pm as the House Judiciary Committee begins hearing testimony on the same sex marriage bill, H5012.

  1. More time wasted on this issue while the state sinks deeper into fiscal disaster. All human beings are anatomically oriented to the opposite sex. If the body is designed for one thing and the mind tells it the exact opposite, there is conflict and confusion. This conflict can rightly be considered disordered. This is what we need to discuss before we rubber stamp the gay lifestyle by approving so-called same-sex marriage.
