Heritage Day Festival
Just bumped into this — the 34th Annual Heritage Day Festival courtesy of the Rhode Island Historical Preservation and Heritage Commission. If you heard some George M. Cohan tunes and patriotic marches earlier that was the National Guard band (pic after the jump). More than 15 countries (including Scotland) as well as Native Americans will be representing. Many tents and kiosks and grills. Dance, food, more music and cultural displays are scheduled. Lots to look at but these girls sporting Laotian dress certainly stood out.
Free, Noon to Dusk, Saturday, September 24, RW National Memorial Green, 282 North Main Street
