Unite Against The War On Women

Unite Women (4.28) Okay people, ink it in — Rally at the State House, Saturday, April 28. This is a call to action from UniteWomen.org.

Help defend women’s rights and pursuit of equality. Join Americans all across the United States on April 28th, as we come together as one to tell members of Congress in Washington, D.C. and legislators in all 50 states, “Enough is enough!” UniteWomen.org strongly supports diversity and welcomes men and women of all ages without regard to their race, color, creed, political affiliation, disability, religious or spiritual beliefs, sexual orientation, gender identity, education or income level, marital status, employment status, or immigrant status. Everyone is invited to join, plan, and rally as we unite to demand that every person be granted equal opportunities, equal rights, and equal representation.

Saturday’s demonstration will take place on the lawn of the State House from 10am to 2pm. Go to the local Facebook page for more details, to download a copy of the poster, and to join up and show your support.  Make sure legislators everywhere know there will be a political price to be paid for supporting this rash of regressive state initiatives (Arizona, Oklahoma, Rhode Island) which are distracting us from the real problems of the day. And we need to see just as many men as women at this event (see: Lysistrata). Enough is enough!

10am to 2pm, Saturday, April 28, Rhode Island State House, front lawn (directions)
