Art Opening Reception At Machines With Magnets

11:51PM ON 10/18/2012
BY H.L. Parker

homemakers (10.19) An exhibit featuring new works by Susan Dwyer opens tonight with a reception starting at 6pm.

Known throughout New England for her murals and portraiture, Rhode Island artist Susan Dwyer returns to her first artistic love — paintings of 1950’s pop culture iconography.

With HOMEMAKERS, Dwyer re-imagines classic 1950’s American domestic scenes with a same-sex spin; benign settings torn from the pages of magazines like Good Housekeeping finally receive the imagery for which so many couples have longed.

Music by Mark Cutler.

6pm to 9pm, Friday, October 19, Machines With Magnets, 400 Main Street, Pawtucket, 401.475.2655
