We even have a homie to cheer for — Brown alum James Develin. The ProJo ran this profile in 2012 when he first signed with the Pats. While working on a degree in mechanical engineering Develin,
. . . was a defensive end at Brown, the team leader in sacks in 2009, his senior season. He was a three-time all-Ivy selection on defense, on second team as a sophomore and junior and on the first team as a senior, when he was a team co-captain. He was sixth in the nation in tackles for a loss in 2009. He had 16 of them, including a team-high five sacks.
The Brown Athletic Office reported Thursday,
Brady said today that New England’s James Develin is the best fullback in football and ought to get more recognition for what he does for the Patriots.
“I love James and I think he’s the best fullback in the league,” Brady said. “He doesn’t get as much credit for it because he doesn’t get as many opportunities, but any time we call on him he delivers.”
Look for Number 46 when the Patriots have the ball. Develin had a touchdown catch in the AFC Championship.
