RISCA Deadline October 1st
Artists, non-profit organizations, schools — don’t let the October 1st deadline pass you by. Individual artists program director Christina DiChiera at the Rhode Island State Council of the Arts (RISCA) sends the details.
Available to artists who are Rhode Island residents and do not require a non-profit 501(c)3 umbrella. Through Project Grants for Individuals, RISCA supports highly creative and talented artists who seek to produce, perform, teach or share their work with the public. Project grants to individuals might include the coordination of community arts events, public performances, arts workshops, creative collaborations, and exhibitions and installations with a strong public component.
Encourages the creative development of artists by enabling them to set aside time to pursue their work and achieve specific creative and career goals. Fellowships are highly competitive awards. Artists are encouraged to apply when they have created a substantial body of work that they are prepared to present in a professional manner. October 1 is the deadline for Fellowships in Choreography, Drawing & Printmaking, Music Composition, New Genres, and Painting.
There are also the Design Innovation Grants, Arts Access Grants, and Project Grants in Education. Also for artists:
RISCA seeks submissions of artwork for the 2016 exhibits at Block Island and T.F. Green Airport galleries. Works in all media will be considered. Participating artists must be RI residents, over 18 years of age, and not currently enrolled in an arts degree program. Artists are encouraged to re-submit to the galleries if not selected in previous years. Artists who have exhibited at the airport galleries within the past two years are ineligible to reapply.
