Choc And Spirits Tasting At Stock Culinary
(2.6) Head over to Stock Culinary Goods on Hope Street Saturday and meet chocolatier Andrew Shotts of Garrison Confections who will be on hand with samples from 11am to 3pm. Those who still mourn the closing eight years ago of Garrison’s Hope Street shop will be happy to know that the full line of Garrison chocolates is now available at Stock.
Shotts began his career in New York City as a pastry chef, first at La Cote Basque, then at the venerable Russian Tea Room. In the fall of 2001 Shotts decided “the time was right to launch his own line of artisanal chocolate bonbons, and Garrison Confections, Inc., was born (Garrison is his middle name).” The company now operates out of its Central Falls facility where Shotts played a role in the Save Chocolateville initiative a few years back.
Campus Fines Wines will be on hand for the event with samples of appropriate sherry, port, and champagne pairings.
Scrabble Note: CHOC was a new addition to the latest edition of The Official Word List (North America).
