Building Bridges Launch Party
(5.28) Build this bridge! It’s going to be awesome. Providence is gonna be hopping this Saturday. In addition to a WaterFire and Brown Commencement festivities, the Building Bridges people are throwing a party on Parcel 4, the riverfront tract where the federal government has mandated a park . . . . with grass . . . and trees . . . it’s the law. Interested parties have come together to light a fire under the I-195 Redevelopment District Commission and get them going on the pedestrian bridge!
Matunuck Oyster Bar is handling the food & drink. Campus Fine Wines is providing beverages. End with dessert at the Acacia Café food truck. Live music all day with the Nelsonians, the Red Pennys, and headliners Mark Cutler and Men of Great Courage.
Singer/songwriter Mark Cutler, former frontman of the Schemers, is joined by Jimmy Berger on bass guitar and harmonies, the mad-hatted Richard “Dickie” Reed on keyboards, Rick Couto on drums, Bob Kirkman on rhythm guitar and banjo, with special guest Cathy Clasper-Torch on foot-stomping violin.
A ticket gets you a beverage and admission for a day of great food and live music. Children under 12 free. This is a rain or shine event. Tickets available now.
