Ethical Values In Corporate Environments
(12.5) Jerry Greenfield of Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream will discuss ethical values in corporate environments as part of a lecture at Brown University titled “Social Responsibility, Radical Business Philosophy, and Ice Cream.”
Sponsored by the Political Theory Project, the lecture will focus on personal stories of Greenfield in building the prominent ice-cream company and his visions of corporate social responsibility. The lecture will lead into a discussion about socially conscious business models during a fragile political and economic climate.
Both Ben and Jerry were enthusiastic supporters of Bernie this year, even creating a small batch of ‘Bernie’s Yearning’ ice cream (maybe not the best name they’ve ever come up with, but it’s the thought). I can’t imagine what flavor they are working on that could capture the upcoming four years — Kevorkian Krunch? I can’t help but feel that some toddler has knocked my Americone Dream off my cone and it’s just melting away on the sidewalk. And by “cone” I mean “missile silo” and by “melting” I mean “thermonuclear war.”
