Columbus Film Club Starts
(4.2) The new Columbus Film Club kicks off this Sunday with the “The Love Witch,” she loved men . . . to death!
Elaine, a beautiful young witch, is determined to find a man to love her. . . With a visual style that pays tribute to Technicolor thrillers of the ‘60s, THE LOVE WITCH explores female fantasy and the repercussions of pathological narcissism.
Writer/director Anna Biller adds, “It’s a fun movie in that I went all the way with my cinema fantasies, going deeply into the visual world of an iconic witch, but it’s also a realistic portrait of a pathological narcissist.” Running time: 2 hours. The movie is unrated.
Film club movies were selected by Justine Johnson, an obsessive former video store employee and midnight movie curator at The Black Box. The spring schedule runs through June with the following movies: Harold and Maude, They Will Have to Kill Us First, A Face in the Crowd, The Fits, and my personal favorite, After Hours.
