Den Den KFC Now Open — No Really
Whatever the opposite of a ‘soft opening’ is, that’s what happened at Den Den Korean Fried Chicken last Saturday. But they are really and truly open now. I poked my head in at 2pm today and the place was humming along nicely; everybody looked happy and there were many Asian faces in the crowd which is always reassuring.
The hostess explained that the March 25th opening was such a rip-roaring success that the restaurant went through seven days of inventory in one day. (Fans of their Benefit Street location curious about this double-fried chicken dish no doubt fueled the stampede.) So the management announced with a sign on the door and a note on their website that they were closing for a few days to regroup and reorder . . . but come back Wednesday!
Only to find that on Wednesday their power had been turned off due to utility work up the street. Wow.
But they are open now. For more on that Korean fried chicken go to Providence Monthly. It comes in: Dark (soy garlic), Red (spicy), and White (lemon cream). Looks good.
