Eugene And Arj Coming To Columbus Theatre
But not together. Fans of “Flight of the Concords” will need no introduction to these two comic actors: Eugene Mirman played Eugene the Landlord — because he only plays characters named Eugene (See also: Bob’s Burgers) — and Arj Barker played the deluded ladies’ man Dave who ran the pawn shop and lived at home with his parents.
Shawn over at the Columbus Theatre is a big stand-up fan and has started booking some great comedy acts. (Tig Notaro really helped stave off the screaming meemies last November 4th . . . at least for that one night.)
The last time Eugene Mirman cruised through was in 2013 when he played the upstairs room and “married” audience members Chris and Orion. The show, including his openers, was hilarious. He may be playing the big theater this time around.
Arj Barker, July 5th, $25 in advance, that show is schedule for the upstairs theater.
Sometimes Mirman marries people. He had no way of knowing that he had selected two local notables, comfortable on a stage. They played it perfectly. I hope this isn’t some awful memory for them.
