But FOR REAL this time, there’s gonna be like, 200 cupcakes and a bunch of wicked awesome vegan cookies, I SWEAR TO YOU. Not to mention, 200+ prints, 200+ artists, 200+ WINNERS!!!!! If you haven’t already bought your ticket, you MAY be shit out of luck but there also MAY be a couple tickets sold at the door so GET THERE EARLY and bring $75!!! Or just show up for the hell of it, it’s going to be a total shit show!

BUT ANYWAY, THIS Saturday, September 20th @ 6:30 there will be two amazing guest lectures starring Gretchen Wagner, curatorial assistant for the museum of modern art (MOMA!)’s department of prints & illustrated books and printmaker/educator (associate professor in the printmaking dept. at RISD) Mr. Andrew Raftery!

This is part of the AS220 community printshop’s one-year anniversary celebration!! The event is totally free and EVERYBODY IS WELCOME!!!

It’ll take place at AS220’s performance space (115 Empire St. Providence, RI 02903) @ 6:30 on september 20th, 2008 (to be intentionally redundant)!  For a slightly more detailed & coherent official press-release sort of situation, see the printshop website.

Print month at AS220; it’s actually more like printmake month, printmaking month, printshop month, printlotto month, raisefundsforyourlocalnonprofitcommunityprintshopmonth. anyway, we’ve got a lot going on. there are some SERIOUSLY brutal events this month, all of which are pretty much free, so keep your eyes peeled. here is some info below, and i’ll be sure to keep you informed.

This SATURDAY, July 19th is the opening of Hera Gallery’s 30 Days + 24 Hours: All-Rhode Island Comic Book Challenge/Graphic Novel Exhibition. Which consists of way more than JUST an opening — the 24hr challenge begins noon on the 19th… the official/traditional ‘opening’ reception is 6pm-9pm, and the challenge ends the 20th at noon. During those 24 hours, food will be served, music will be heard, movies will be watched, Alec Thibodeau will read comix, and a slew of random Rhode Islanders will draw them.

HEY SO there’s a poster/print show this FRIDAY @ 5 Traverse Gallery on the corner of wickenden st. and traverse st (a.k.a next to kabloom, across from the utrecht parking lot– have a latte at coffee xxx-change, eat some cous cous). it’s an OPEN SHOW which means ANYONE can show up and put their prints/posters/flyers/p-copies/l-press/litho-graph-y/s-skreens/etchings/openbitez/soft embosses/pulp prints/etc etc etc up on the wall. maybe some dudes will buy some stuff!

the co-ed fight club for girls return (again) to e&o monday, june 9th, 8pm-12am for yet another brutal night of biceps, bruises and beer. i’m pretty sure there’ll be free food, new faces, ridonk sweatsuits, and possibly the world premiere of CFCFG’s very own potentially embarrassing/undoubtedly outrageous dance party workout music video party party party dance video.

more lunchy but whatevs, free COFFEE i’m gonna drink it all so watch
out BAGELS which are hard to come by i hear and really brutal PANCAKES
personally flipped by yours truly that may or may not be gluten free
just to keep it alt-lyfe u know; anyway) and besides all the free
food, bring your dolla$$$$ ‘cuz we going to have a wicked cheap print
sale (some nice prints&posters from $3-$15!!!!!!!!!!!) AND a RAFFLE
(raffle is the new keg party) for a print and a fish pillow (which
bleeds authentic fire). it’s going to be really special (friends).

The Co-ed Fight Club for Girls returns to the E&O tap Monday, February 25th, 8pm-12am for a night of serious bar tending, booze, breasts, biceps and BRAND NEW OUTFITS (printed & designed by yours truly under CFCFG direction). So, put on your knee-highs, stuff some singles in your wallet, adjust your sweatbands and jog on over.  E&0 tap is conveniently located at 289 Knight St. in Providence, RI 02909.  It’ll be just like this:

Well! Classes for February filled up so fast I didn’t really have time to post the schedule, but March is well on it’s way and there’s still room in most of the classes!! I’m only going to post the classes that have space left, but you can see what you’re missing out on in the calendar.
