Reminder: Chafee At Wild Colonial

10AM ON 28/10/2009
BY Beth Comery

DL with Chafee Chris Blazejewski, the guy who is single-handedly redeeming the tarnished reputation of Harvard (see: Bush, George W., MBA), invites everyone to meet gubernatorial candidate, and your host for the evening, Lincoln Chafee.  And it’s at the Wild Colonial where you might enjoy going anyway. . . lotsa of beer on tap, view of the river, darts. No wait — politics, beer and darts? Hide the darts. This is the first of the three-part countdown to Election 2010 brought to you by Drinking Liberally, with Caprio and Lynch to follow. But speaking strictly for myself, this is my guy.

8pm to 10pm, Wednesday, Wild Colonial Tavern, 250 South Water Street, wheelchair accessible, plenty of parking

In The Tradition Of The Founding Fathers

8PM ON 21/07/2009
BY Daily Dose

Drinking Liberally It’s time for ‘Drinking Liberally’ again. For a discussion of the public option, take the publick house option (Blaz likes this little joke, he will probably keep saying it) and join hosts Chris Blazejewski, Kim Ahern, Meg Grady, Ami Gada, Matt Jerzyk and Julian Dash at the Wild Colonial on Wednesday night. As always, the opinions are free but the drinks will cost ya, and everyone is welcome. In the words of Benjamin Franklin,

“There can’t be good living where there is not good drinking” (see: Utah, Saudi Arabia)

8pm, Wednesday, Wild Colonial Tavern, 250 South Water Street

Cicilline Special guest star David Cicilline makes an appearance tonight at ‘Drinking Liberally’.  Join the usual suspects (Blaz? Jerzyk? Kimber?) in trying to get the notoriously abstemious mayor at least a little tipsy.

Celebrate The End Of An Era

9PM ON 17/12/2008
BY Dave Segal

Matthew and RIFuture have been the backbone of the RI blogosphere for the last three-plus years, and have provided consistent insightful commentary on RI political happenings. It’s hard to imagine that the Daily Dose and N4N and such would exist without his work. Come celebrate and appreciate, as Matt leaves to focus on his new lawyerly endeavors:

Tonight — Drinking Liberally 2.2

10AM ON 27/02/2008
BY Dave Segal

Drinking Liberally ‘The next meeting of the *new* Providence chapter of Drinking Liberally is TONIGHT, February 27th at 8pm at The Wild Colonial in Providence. Drinking Liberally is an informal, inclusive progressive social group that gives like-minded, left-leaning individuals a place to talk politics over a beer.

Looking forward to seeing you there!’
