Troop Of Echoes, whose all-instrumental sound is a sort of proggy blend of modern indie rock and jazzy elements like A Love Supreme-style sax and skittering drums, (check out “Little Bird”) bring their not-really-smooth, not-really-jazz-but-the-best-of-both thing to AS220 tonight, along with Cowgirl, a Zox sideproject and Boston’s Whoarfrost, who can best be described as funk-skronk, or maybe “fronk”.
